BIOGRAPHY
Rahil Amarnath is an industrial designer working across different areas to create a clear and connected body of work focused on materials, storytelling, and human experience.
Born in the United States, he studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he built a strong foundation in industrial design, furniture, and spatial design, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact.
Influenced by time spent in Italy, Rahil approaches design with a balance of form and function, creating work that connects emotional experience with physical interaction. His projects range from early concepts to refined objects, often combining sculptural form with everyday use.
His work explores lighting, furniture, and workplace design, aiming to improve daily experiences through thoughtful and adaptable objects.
PROCESS AND CONCEPT
Rahil Amarnath’s work develops through a series of iterative projects (both personal and educational), forming a cohesive and evolving design language. Rooted in material exploration and lighting design, each piece reflects an ongoing dialogue between form, function, and narrative.
Inspired by natural systems and contemporary environments, his designs balance organic expression with structure. Through prototyping and hands-on making, his work spans lighting, wearables, and daily gadgets, each approached as both a functional piece and a sculptural study.
