WHAT IS IT?
Marie is a wall-hanging clear dustpan humorously recalls Marie Antoinette’s era of excess, when nobility punished trivialities with severity. Made of transparent PETG Plastic and using Vaccum Forming, it reinterprets royal opulence through simplicity—much like Philippe Starck’s Louis Ghost Chair. By transforming luxury into clarity, it turns history’s extravagance into a modern reflection on status and materiality.

Designer’s Note
This project explores form through making and CMF variation. The piece was vacuum formed in clear/translucent patterned and white versions to understand how material and opacity affect perception. A floral pattern developed in the render was applied to the physical piece using flatbed printing, allowing the same form to express multiple outcomes through surface and finish.
